The Samsung Galaxy S3 is prone to having the common power button super sensitive problem. Every time when you touch the area near or around the power button, the button will function even though its not physically clicked in or pressed down. This can cause random power offs or restarts when your using your phone. The cause to the power button being super sensitive is usually because of dust or dirt in between the power button ribbon and the actual top plastic button thats fitted ontop. If its actually stuck in and you can't press it, then you will need to repair it by actually replacing the full part. If you can still press it, you can perform a quick clean to see if it fixes it to save you having to buy and fit an replacement.
1) Power off the phone.
2) Remove the back battery plastic cover. Remove the battery and sim card.
3) Obtain a can of compressed air. Blast air into the gaps around the power button area and all around the phone.
4) You can also use a vacuum cleaner and place the nozzle around the power button area to suck up any trapped dirt or dust that the compressed can of air can't get to. This will also prevent it from going back in and allow a much more thorough clean.
