How To Wire Car Neon Lights In Your Car

Once you have installed and fitted your neon lights onto your car exterior or interior, you will need to wire them up, in order for them to work and turn on. All car neon lighting needs a constant 12 volts to operate correctly and you can gain that 12 volts from your car's battery. To hook your neon lights to your car battery is simple, all you will need to so is connect the positive wire to the positive post on the battery and connect the negative wire to the negative battery post. If want to wire your car neon lighting this way, you will have no control on when you want to turn them on and when you want to turn them off.

If you want to control when you want you neon lighting to turn on and off, simply place a switch in line with the neon's positive wire. Or instead of hooking your neon lighting directly to your car's battery, hook it to your car's ignition. When you hook it to your car's ignition system, your neon light will turn off, when you switch off the car engine and it will turn on when you start your car.
