Forza 4 Crew Record Engine & Exhaust Sounds From Real Cars!

Forza 3 is a great game, it has many cars, most of them do have accurate engine and exhaust noises. But in Forza 3 there is some lack in detail of some sounds that car enthusiasts want to hear, such as the turbo and super charger in the car to spool up with a high pitched sounding whistle, with a blow off valve. People also want to hear the exhaust pop and backfire when you let go of the gas, like in Dirt 3. People also wanted Forza 3 exhaust and engine sounds to change, when they add upgradeable parts to the car, like a performance exhaust, just like in Forza 2. But people you have to give credit to the people that put Forza 3 together, well at least the cars in Forza 3 sound much more realistic than Gran Tursimo 5, the cars in that game sound like a vacuum cleaner.

So Forza 4 called in a guy called "Nick", he recorded car audio sounds for engines and exhausts in PGR4. Don't get me wrong but the engine and exhaust sounds were spot on, the evo mr sound like the real thing in that game and thats why Forza required him. So Nick is recording the engine and exhaust sounds for Forza4, awesome! This means that Forza 4 will have the best sounding cars, that actually sound real, now that is good to hear.

Nick and his expert crew got a dyno arranged that has special microphones, this is to capture the engine and exhaust sounds, when the car is doing its thing on the dyno. For evidence, they captured a video showing mics recording a Subaru Impreza wrx sti on the dyno, the video is below:

Once Nick recorded the engine and exhaust sounds from the real life Subaru Impreza, he did some clever sound editing and inserted the sound into a simulated Subaru car in Forza 4. So you can finally hear that boxer engine in a Subaru roar at high revs and rumble at idle, the video is below of the actual game play:
