How To Clean Corroded Speaker Amp Terminals

If you have some old retro classic audio equipment such as speakers and amplifiers from the 90s, chances are they are going to have corroded terminals and will need cleaning. This can have affect on the sound quality and you might hear crackles or buzzing sounds heard during music playback. The best way to clean corroded speaker terminals is to use a can of WD-40 lubrication spray.

1) Remove speaker wires from the terminal that you want to clean.

2) Attach the red plastic straw to the WD-40 can.

3) Spray directly onto the rusted area.

4) Using a old toothbrush scrub in the solution in quick circular motions.

5) Dry the metal using a clean cloth and reconnect speaker wire.
