Once you have written something on the surface of the CD, usually it is permanent and is irremovable. But if you have made a spelling error or labeled the wrong disc, it is still possible to remove the permanent marker pen from the CD.

1) Locate the writing you want to remove on your Compact Disc.

2) Obtain a can of WD-40. You will be using this formula to remove the marker pen from the disc.

3) Attach the small straw that comes supplied with the WD-40 can. Then obtain a lint free soft cloth and spray a sensible amount onto it.

4) Then using the wet side of the cloth, rub in circular motions rapidly on the writing you want to remove. When doing this, it will polish off the marker pen from the surface. It may take you around 5 minutes to completely remove, but this depending on how strong the marker pen ink you used is.
