How To Connect a Computer Case Fan To Power Supply PSU

You can install numerous case fans to reduce the internal operating temperature hardware components create. This will prevent the chances of overheating issues to occur. You can install a intake fan at the front to draw cold air into the case. You also install an exhaust fan at the rear to draw all of the trapped hot air inside the case outwards. Computer case fans require 12 volts in order to operate and become functional. You will need to connect the computer fan to the power supply found inside the case for its main power source.

1) Ensure that your computer tower is 'Switched' off from the mains.

2) Wear an 'Antistatic' band on your wrist. This will prevent shorting out electrical components from built up static charge.

3) Look at the 'Rear' of the computer tower. You will see 2-3 Phillips screws holding the side panel in place.

4) Using a 'Philips' head screwdriver, unscrew all screws and place them into a plastic container.

5) Push the 'Side panel' towards the left to release it from the computer case.

6) Look for a spare wire with a 'Female' molex connector coming out from the PSU box.

7) Connect the 'Male' molex connector from the computer case fan into the 'Female' molex connector, found on the wire from the power supply unit.
