If you are having problems powering your pair of headphones to their full potential, then the fiio e11 is the solution for you. It is a compact portable amplifier that allows plenty of power to drive any pair of high or low ohm impedance headphones. Not only that it also provides better sound quality and a extra bass boost feature to make them sound like a car subwoofer. If you want to crank out more louder volume from your fiio e11 i have discovered a quick modification that will allow you to increase the output power. I needed to change the battery and while doing so, i have discovered a little flick-able micro switch that has two positions. This is a secret switch that the manufacturer put in place, usually from the factory it is set to the low position if you purchased it brand new.
1) Turn the adjustable volume knob so that the amp turns itself off. The blue led indicator will disappear when done successfully.
2) Flip the device over. Look at the bottom you will see a grooved slot which you can put your finger in. Push down the rectangular release button and then insert the tip of your finger into this area and remove the back battery cover panel.
3) Next remove the battery pack. The same procedure as you would used for many old Nokia phones such as the 6230i.
4) Look carefully, next to the 3 gold pin contacts you will see a small micro switch labeled with a two options, one at the top being 'High Power' and bottom being 'Low Power'.
5) Use the end of a pen to flick the switch to the top position for the amp to provide maximum power. This however will have an impact of battery life and will drain quicker.
