If you want to add more bass to the music you play inside your car, you can add an additional subwoofer enclosure box in the trunk. This will add more rumble and boom to your ride in terms of producing the low frequency spectrum. If you have a really powerful subwoofer installed in your car and standard door speakers, the bass will over power the vocals. So you will drowning out the vocals, what you want is a balanced car audio system to gain the best of both worlds. If you want to turn down the bass a little, you don't have to downgrade the car amplifier to a lower powered on. You can simply make certain adjustments to the amplifiers settings
1) Insert a CD of your choice into your headunit and play it.
2) Turn up the volume level to a regular listening volume that you would mostly use on a daily basis and tuning the equalizer settings to how you prefer.
3) Pop the trunk and locate the 'Gain' setting on your amp.
4) Get a flat head screwdriver and slowly turn down this dial accordingly to your most preferred adjustment listening levels. This is so the sound fits in nicely with your mids and highs.
