There are a wide range of different sized in earphone silicone tips or known as plugs, that you can place onto your earphones to match the perfect comfort solution. They come in all sorts of ear shapes and sizes, including single, dual and triple sized flanges. In general, the more deeper the insertion is into your canal the more the bass is going to sound louder and deeper. Sometimes, you prefer slightly more comfort over sound quality. If this is the case, you can cut down the flange levels to your preferred suitability. This is easy to do since they are made from a soft plastic rubber material and i have tried this on some high quality Shure ones and works a treat.
1) Remove the triple flange tip from the iem earphone carefully.
2) You will see three levels of different rubber flange. Large > Medium > Small usually its positioned in that order.
3) Use a pair of scissors, cut down the middle of the flange you want to permanently remove where the plug hole is.
4) Dispose the remains of the plastic parts that you removed into a recycling bin. Now refit it back onto the iem driver and perform the same complete procedure for the other side.
