How To Fix PS2 PlayStation 2 Component Cable No Signal

If you have just recently purchased a brand new set of component cables to connect your PS2 to your HDTV and are getting no signal or a blank screen, its most likely an issues with the actual settings. This particular problem is quiet common with users that are tying to use there HD plasma or LCD screen televisions for use with there console. Its most likely that its still on the default RGB mode which is used for regular composite cables. But before you attempt any further please ensure that all the connection are firmly secure in the correct sockets and that the component plugs and in the right colored sockets. We have had a few customers that had placed the blue colour plug in the green color socket causing display problems to occur.

Since you can't exactly see what is happening on the screen, i suggest you put back in your old AV scart cable.

1) If there is a game disc inserted in the console please remove it and restart the console.

2) Once the console has rebooted wait for it to go onto the browser screen menu.

3) Now that you are on the correct menu, you need to go into 'System Configuration'.

4) Then to select 'Component Video Out' which is the Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr' mode opposite to the default 'RGB' mode. Press 'X' to enter your new correct display settings.

5) Remove your standard av cable and insert your new component cable, you should be able to get a display onscreen now. If not check you are in the right mode on your TV. If that doesn't work then i guess the cable is faulty as the small brittle wires inside might have become weak or damaged.
