The PS3 console has a built in bluray compatibility, so you don't need to buy an additional separate bluray player to watch your favorite bluray format movies. To navigate through the movie to select different options, you can use the PS3 dualshock 3 controller. You can also purchase an official PS3 bluray remote control and use that instead of using the pad. Using the remote control provides you with a better controllable experience with movie playback. Once you have purchased it, you will need to synchronize it with your PlayStation 3 console in order for it work.
1) Turn the remote control around and remove the plastic battery lid. Then insert two fresh AA sized batteries into the compartment.
2) Power on your PS3 Console, wait for it to load onto the 'XMB' menu.
3) Navigate to 'Settings' > 'Accessory Settings' > 'Register BD Remote Control'.
4) A message onscreen will instruct you to press the 'Start' & 'Enter' buttons simultaneously on the bluray remote control. Make sure you press both mentioned buttons at the same or it will not work.
5) The bluray remote control will now be successfully fully synchronized and registered with your PlayStation 3 console. You can now begin to use it.
