There are two types of rattles in car audio. The rattle from the trunk because of a tremendous amount of bass or the subwoofer voice coil rattling. Todays article will be to repair a rattling car subwoofer. This can happen if the voice coil is misaligned. You can attempt to realign it using a hair dryer and a hoover. This will loosen up the coil and the air from the vacuum cleaner will force it back into place.
1) Unscrew all the screws from the subwoofer surround, disconnect the speaker wire and remove it from the enclosure box.
2) Place the subwoofer onto a flat surface and use a hair dryer to heat up the voice coil for 5 minutes.
3) Now using a household vacuum cleaner, place the nozzle around the coil and spider going upwards and downwards around the middle coil section. Doing this same process all around.
