How To Clean a Speaker Voice Coil The Professional Way

If you notice that your speaker makes a weird buzzing or scratching sound when pressing the cone up and down, there is probably dust inside the voice coil. This can happen if you place the subwoofer in a dusty location and it's been sitting for a while without any use for a long period of time. Its easy to clean any speaker voice coil and won't take long at all.

1) You will need to remove the center dust cap that is placed in the middle of the cone. You can do this by using a blade to cut around it were the existing glue is placed.

2) Place a vacuum nozzle inside the center hole were the coil pole is.

3) Setting the machine on the lowest power setting, begin to clean around the voice coil area.

4) Pour glue around the dust cap and place back onto the speaker cone.
