How to fix a loud noisy Playstation 2 cooling fan

The Sony Playstation 2 is a very old console, but there are much better consoles on today's market, as the ps3 is in its place, but still the ps2 console is great for classic games such as Tekken, Grand Theft Auto San Andreas and Vice City. After years of use of owning a PlayStation 2 console, the cooling fan can get really noisy and loud and will make a buzzing sound when you watch dvd's or play games, which can get very annoying. But don't worry there is a simple solution on how you can fix a noisy fan in a older fat style ps2. This fixing guide is only for the fat style console, not for the slimline model.

1)Watch the video as it shows how you can disassemble your console and remove the cooling fan from the ps2 console and the motherboard. You will need to open your ps2 console, this is so you can get access to the cooling fan to do a service to it.

2)Once you have remove the cooling fan from the back of the gaming console and have disconnected the fan connecter that connects onto the motherboard, get some sewing machine oil and pour it into the fan insides .This will loosen to the motor because it will lubricate it and make things much quieter in the long run of operating the console.

3)Reconnect the cooling fan to the motherboard, place the cooling back into the ps2 console and the put the console back together the way you opened it and plug in your ps2 to test the fan noise and your cooling fan should make less noise now.
