If your ps3 console is prone to overheating issues, the first thing you want to consider is making simple a modification so that the fan runs on full speed. This will allow the fan itself to distribute more amount of air at a quicker rate. This will result in the console running cooler, however because of how fast the fan is spinning it will also become louder.
1) Open up your console.
2) Remove the plug attached to the fan into the motherboard.
3) Attach the fan wires to a constant 12 volt source from the motherboard and an external AC adapter.
