A seat belt should always be worn at all times while in any car, especially in a high performance car like a Subaru. If you are going to leave your doors open to clean your car and start it up letting it idle, you might want to temporarily disable the seat belt beep chime.
1) Turn the ignition into the on position, not starting up the boxer engine.
2) Insert the drivers buckle into the seat belt holder, clicking it inwards and outwards three times within 6 seconds.
3) Turn the key into the off position and start up the engine.
4) The seat belt chime will now be stopped until you turn off engine next time.
