How To Fix a Car Subwoofer That Is Cutting Out

If your car subwoofer is cutting out, then it might be because of:

1)Check if there is any loose wires, that have loose connections, on your car head unit and on your car amplifier.

2)Check your car amplifier ground spot, as it is probably not grounding the car amplifier properly. Make sure the grounding spot, were you have placed the ground wire, has all the paint scraped off the connection location. If there is still some paint, remove it using a flat head screwdriver or sandpaper.

3)If your car subwoofer is cutting out at a high volume level, it might be because the ohm load is too low for the car amplifier to handle. So increase the ohm impedance load of the car subwoofer and test your car amplifier, if it cuts out the subwoofer again.

4)A subwoofer that is cutting out can also be caused because of the car battery and alternator can't put up with the power demands your car amplifier requires. In general, if your running more then 1000 watts of rms, you will need to upgrade the battery and alternator, if you have not upgrade these and your running 1000 watts of rms power, then its obvious why your sub is cutting out
