Most in car dvd players that fit inside the head unit slot in the car's dashboard have a wire connected to the handbrake. It controls when the dvd player can be used, when the handbrake is down, it will stop displaying dvd movies and when the handbrake is up, it will display movies and allow you to watch dvd movies. The reason why manufactures add such feature is because they don't want drivers to watch movies, while they are driving, as that can cause a distraction. But if the kids and family want to watch dvd movies, while you drive on the road, it is not fair.
So to bypass that feature, you will need to locate the wire that connects to the car's handbrake, found on the wire harness. Once you have found it, connect that wire with the ground wire, the black colour wire, that grounds the in car dvd head unit. Once you have done that, you have bypassed the dvd handbrake lock feature and now your passengers, such as your friend or family members can watch movies, while you drive.
thanks, worked well for me!!
