You might want to reset the game data on your Gameboy cartridge if you are wanting to start all over again or selling it to a game store. Sometimes resetting it will fix issues such as freezing on the loading screen when playing the handheld console as well. This procedure does vary depending on what game you are trying to soft reset and wipe game save data off. It has been testing on all Pokemon games.
1) Power on console and insert game your choice.
2) Hold the following buttons together 'A+B+Start+Select' simultaneously.
3) The console will reboot itself and the Gameboy will successfully reset all game data.
