When Nokia manufactured their phones, they included a option which allows you to place it into offline mode. When you activate this particular type of mode, the mobile phone will not connect your sim card onto the network provider, it will block all communications. It is relevant enabling this option when you are either in a hospital or an aircraft. Since the radio frequency mobile phones use can interfere with them types of radio sensitive services and cause disruption. When you activate it, you can still use your mobile phone as normal, play games, check the calendar or set the alarm clock. However, you can't make or receive calls or texts, unless it is permanently deactivated.
1) Press the 'Middle' button on the keypad to select the 'Main Menu'.
2) Select the 'Settings' option. The setting option will be represented by a 'Spanner' icon.
3) Select the 'Profiles' option. This will be the first option listed under 'Settings'.
4) Then onscreen you will see a list of different profiles, general, silent, meeting, outdoor etc. Go down the list until you find 'Flight' mode, followed by selecting it. Usually the 'Flight' mode option is placed at the very end of the list.
5) Then select 'Activate' and a message will appear saying 'Flight Profile Active All Active Connections Ended'. This will confirm to you that it is now enabled in airplane mode. To deactivate flight mode, simply change the profile to either silent or general.
