Some particular types of screwdrivers have a magnetized tip at the end that allows the screws to be stuck on while using the tool. Sometimes you may find this feature useful because it prevents the chances of you dropping a screw and loosing it during work. However, you may want to know how to demagnetize a screwdriver if you are working on your computer build to avoid antistatic discharge of delicate electronic parts. These instructions also work on other similar metal material tools such as pliers.
1) Get the screwdriver you want to demagnetize.
2) Go into your garden and find an old paving slab.
3) Place the tip of the tool onto the edge of the brick and use a hammer to bang it rapidly 8-10 times is recommended. During this process the magnetic fields will randomize and disappear permanently.
