The Atari Lynx is now classified as a old retro console and is highly special and collectable. Due to its age, its quiet common to develop faults due to past ownership and hours of endless gaming fun. Most common is gamers having issues trying to power on their handheld console. There is an old trick that is used to identify what the problem is and what can be done about it.
1) Get a short piece of wire with copper strands on both ends.
2) Attach one piece to the negative terminal in the battery compartment and attach the other end onto the ground of the headphone jack the outer metal bit. If the console attempts to power up this time, then clearly the mosfet on the PCB is faulty and will need replacing with an electrical component of its equivalent.
3) Try a different AC mains adapter. It could be that its faulty and no longer is working, therefore it will not charge the battery up at all. So there will be no source of powering going into it resulting in no power and a blank screen.
